You need a very specific interface for iPod. For example, if a head-mount unit has a mountain to get the iPod interface. Normally, this interface is a little box that has an ability to do your radio, and an input connected to your iPod. Basically, you have a suitable location for the mounting box to find. Then get a good place to spend the iPod cable. A few good places arein the glove compartment, or if you have a pocket in the dashboard, the route through there.

Other digital music solutions:
Kenwood makes a tax "music", which is basically a portable hard drive that interfaces with the Kenwood receiver. This is a good alternative for the placement of an iPod with you incar. Just load the VAT music and the songs are good to go.
Alpine makes a digital music player. This unit contains a disc that you can upload your songs. It works much like a CD changer, which is controlled by the main unit.
A word about other digital music players:
IPod is not the only digital music player available. Creative Labs Zen, and Microsoft has just released the Zune. There are many other units available. If youOne of the other digital music players, is still a bit 'of these techniques to be used to connect the player to your unit.
Unfortunately, the iPod is much more involved than its competitors, to my knowledge there is no interface options available for other digital music players. You can still see the device in your main unit through a mini phono to RCA cable. You can also use the FM modulator, there are specific iPod, which allows you to connect to retrieve yourMain unit via radio.
Words about digital music formats, compression and audio quality:
So back to ice ages, like 10 years ago, a new digital format known as MP3 began to take the internet by storm. Basically, allowed for a music CD to take a minimum of space on the hard drive of a person. Before MP3, the format most important available to many people, PCM (WAV alias). Local is basically a copy of data stored on CD. Anyway, MP3 changed. Was timepossible to compress the music to a size much smaller file. Generally you can fit 10x the data in the same room. Where a WAV file of a typical song can take 50 Mb, an MP3 file with the same song can take 5 Mb, without a serious loss of quality. Songs can be easily transmitted between humans. This has naturally led to a lot of controversy … Remember the original Napster?
Yeah, yeah. Who cares?
That's why it matters. To useMuch of the information in a small room, you should take some things. In other words, you lose the sound quality. MP3 files allow for higher or lower amounts of compression, and usually is expressed by the bit rate. Basically, the higher the bitrate, the sound quality superior.
Yeah, yeah. Who cares?
When playing music in cars, especially LOUD, sound quality matters a lot. Yes, you are sure that during the playback of MP3 files (or another digital music format) by car, you useaudio files of higher quality. If you have Bad encoded music files, you will not regret it!
Poorly encoded files tend to sound "metallic", or as they are played through a jar. Moreover, high frequency sounds, such as dishes and voice (especially when the singers use words that contain the letter "S") "swishy sound. Bass tends to sound muddy and messy. When you play these things out loud, it becomes annoying.
In any case if you're going to play digital music in cars that haveusing high-quality audio files. For MP3 files must always be at 44.1 kHz. Bitrate should be at least 160, but preferably higher. I personally encode all my files on 256
However, now that you know your digital music in the car!
